Carl Fischer, photographer and graphic designer, was born in 1924 and raised in Brooklyn. He graduated from The Cooper Union and studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London as a Fulbright Fellow, and began his career as an advertising agency art director in New York working with Paul Rand and Herb Lubalin. He created famous covers for Esquire magazine between 1963 and 1971.
