Born September 15, 1951 in Oakland, California, died in New York City on May 9, 2007 at her home in New York City. Carla was a talented vocalist who studied with Lennie Tristano and Warne Marsh. An accomplished scat singer, Carla was also active singing in commercials. She battled breast cancer over an extended period before dying in 2007.
