Carlos Campos Arreola, who was born in Mexico City on November 12, 1911 and died in Cuernavaca on December 30, 1999. The Mexican musician had eleven brothers and spent his childhood in the Colonia Doctores del Distrito Federal. His parents, of humble origin, wanted Carlos to study medicine, but he was inclined from an early age to music and somehow managed to learn to play piano, guitar, saxophone and other instruments of breath, in a lyrical way , without knowing how to read the piece. Later, during her adolescence and youth, she was a member of several orchestras that used to play in small cabarets and dance halls. He debuted conducting his orchestra in the Leda room, and under his command, over the years, that group became one of the most popular, innovative and influential of his time. Under his direction, in the late 30s of the twentieth century, the orchestra of maestro Campos began playing in different dance halls of the capital, such as the Cologne, Los Angeles, Riviera and the famous Salón México. In those places, the orchestra was made of a name and a reputation, alternating with the best orchestra of the time. Carlos was able to print to the danzón a distinctive sound of unmistakable Mexican air
