Owen Sheppard ‘Castro’ is a percussionist and producer based in Cardiff, United Kingdom. Coming from an intrinsically musical family he was (willingly) classically trained on various instruments from a very early age. However with the teenage angst building inside of him, Mozart and Beethoven just didn’t cut it anymore and at the age of 14 he formed his first band from behind the drum kit. Since then from the seediest toilet bars to the UK’s biggest indoor arenas, he has literally played them all (in various different musical “outfits”). Mostly performing in the UK, Ireland and Western Europe he has spent the entirety of his teens and early twenties tirelessly dedicated to his art. However, Owen has gone back to the drawing board time and time again and has always managed to claw his way back. This has shown over the last year alone since he and his good friend and DJ ‘Dexter’ joined forces form ‘Yacht Club Sound System’, complementing his solo work.
