American blues pianist (born 1915 in Nashville, Tennessee - died 1951 in Nashville, Tennessee). Cecil Gant recorded his first single in 1944, I Wonder / Cecil Boogie. He went on to release numerous sides on labels such as King, Imperial, Dot and Swing Time/Down Beat before dying of pneumonia at age 35.
