Musician of Blues
A.k.a. Ellis Davis
Delta bluesman and slide guitar player. Born June 9, 1926 or 1927 in Helena, Arkansas (actual year of birth not 100% verifiable). Died September 27, 2017. He played briefly on King Biscuit Time before joining Robert Nighthawks's Band in the early 1950s. He moved to Pine bluff in 1961 and again played with Nighthawk. Because a childhood bout with polio left him without the full use of his hands, he developed an upside-down guitar style, using a butter knife as a slide.
