Swiss conductor and composer born July 24, 1916 - passed away May 24, 2007. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, as a son of Swiss ambassador. During the high school years in Hamburg Dumont wrote arrangements for Teddy Stauffer and other chapels. Beginning of the 1930s , he won an international competition for arrangement and so came into contact with famous musicians of the time , such as with Jack Hylton or Benny Goodman. Studied at the Zürich Conservatory with Volkmar Andreae (conducting ), Paul Muller (composition), Walter Frey (piano ) and Fritz Reitz (cello ) . After studying Dumont and Others worked as an arranger for film music in Hollywood and later, after his return to Switzerland , as a record producer in Zurich for the company Jecklin , then general agent of Columbia Records. 1946 - 1966 founded and conducted Orchestra Cedric Dumont. After 1966 was replaced by . 1966 - 1980 (his retiring) held several management positions in radio and television From the early 1980s, Cedric Dumont also devoted himself to writing cookbooks and wine guides . Dumont used several pseudonyms (Charles Vanberg , Carlos Dalmonte , Fritz Vomberg , Charles O Mauna, Vitus Ambord , Frederic Charles , Scharli dr Mockewies ), which reflect his compositional and artistic range .
