* 10.03.1922 in Adana, Turkey. After finishing primary school he visited a conservatory. In 1941 he moved to Istanbul. He got offerd a radio programm by Ankara's radio director Mesut Cemil Bey, where he started working together with the Fehmi Ege Orchestra, having 3-4 radio programs per week. In 1946 he moved back to Istanbul where he discovered his passion for Tango and Jazz. From 1948-49 he recorded Fehmi Ege's songs ''Ayrılık'', ''Kıskanıyorum'', and ''Gönülden Şikayet''. In 1955 he went to the United States where he continued visiting the conservatory and in 1961 he graduated from there. He still lives in the US.
