Chilean dance and legendary nueva canción chilena, folklore & traditional music group from the South Chile, specially Chiloé. Founded 1968 under the influence of artist like Hector Pavez, Gabriela Pizarro and Millaray, they are active until today. "Chamal" is an Mapudungún word, that mean a kind of piece of clothes used by the Mapuche People (indigenous) in South Chile, similar to a "poncho". Members are / were: - Ester Gallero: vocals. - Laura Riquelme: vocals. - Patricia Salgado: vocals. - Soledad Guerra: vocals. - Mirtha Núñez: vocals. - Jaime Chamorro: vocals, guitar y charango. - Renato Riquelme: vocals, guitar. - Orlando Sáez: vocals, guitar. - Vladimir Soto: vocals, guitar. - Miguel Marín: vocals, guitar. - Jaime Arévalo: vocals, guitar. - Jacobo Archiles: vocals, guitar and accordion. - Juan Aro: vocals, accordion. - Jorge Orellana: vocals, accordion. - Ricardo Pacheco: vocals, percussions. - Carlos Garrido: vocals, percussions.
