A.k.a. Charles W. Miller
Saxophonist and flutist (July 2, 1939 – June 14, 1980) was an original member of War, one of the premier ’70s funk bands. Started his carrer in recording sessions with Ray Charles and in live performances with Brenton Wood. Then with Harold Brown, Papa Dee Allen, and Howard Scott formed a band called Nightshift, also worked with Eric Burdon and Lee Oskar. Was murdered in a botched robbery just two weeks before his 41st birthday. The crime has never been solved.
