Worked (late 1940s) with: John Haim's Jelly Roll Kings, Cy Laurie, Reg Rigden and Mike Daniels, from 1949 to 1954 led own ''Jazzmen'', in late 1954 with Eric Silk, Bobby Mickleburgh (1955), George Webb, Joe Daniels, Kenny Ball (1957-58), from 1960 led own ''All Stars Jazz Band'', in 1963-64 co-led with trumpeter Brian Jones after worked with Monty Sunshine (1965-68), Joe Daniels (1969) and led own band during the 1970s and 1980s. Born: August 13, 1920 in Lambeth, London, England. Died: January 16, 1997 in London, England.
