b. May 26, 1909 in Jackson Mississippi d. January 28, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois Also known as "Papa Charlie," Charlie McCoy was the younger brother of Kansas Joe McCoy. He played mandolin and guitar with The Harlem Hamfats, The Mississippi Hot Footers, and Papa Charlie's Boys.
