Doctoral research under supervision of Philip Cashian with funding from AHRC. His works have been performed at the Cheltenham, Huddersfield, Gaudeamus (Netherlands) and Bang-On-A-Can (USA) Festivals, Barbican, Southbank Centre, Roundhouse and Kings Place. His works have been performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, Apartment house, the Esbjerg Ensemble (Denmark), Musica Vitae (Sweden), the Radius Ensemble, the Orkest 'de ereprijs' (Netherlands) CHROMA, the Ossian Ensemble, the English National Ballet and individuals including Rolf Hind, Noriko Ogawa, Sarah Nicolls, Brindley Sherrat, Xian Zhang, Lawrence Cummings, François-Xavier Roth and Yan Pascal Tortelier. Awards include the 2006 Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize and the 2007 prize at the 13th International Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn.
