الشاب حسني / Cheb Hasni (1968 - 1994) was an Algerian rai singer from Oran. In 1994, the 26-year-old artist was gunned down outside his home in Oran by members of an Islamic fundamentalist terrorist group. He was the first rai singer to be assassinated in the Algerian civil war.
