In late 1960's and early 1970's, Santana had two percussion players: Rico Reyes played percussion during 1971 & 1972. José "Chepito" Areas played percussion 1969 - 77. Santana studio live album Historic Santana (recorded 1968 at Pacific Recording Studios) has percussion credit with name Chepito Reyes. Santana album Santana (released 1971) has song called "Guajira" which has writing credits for C. Reyes. It is unsure if person behind this credit is José "Chepito" Areas, Rico Reyes or someone unknown. It is also possible that it's combined credit for multiple persons.
