A.k.a. Chavell Singleton (formerly Chavell Sims) Cynthia Ball Cynthia Singleton Vellcha
Born in Newark (NJ), Chavell grew up singing in church and has been singing ever since. Chavell got a good head start in the music when she was asked to replace an artist at a local studio, little did she know this would be the launch of her career. Once at the studio Chavell was introduced to Kerri Chandler of Three Generations. Kerri presented Chavell with the song he wanted her to sing but she turned down the song and replaced it with one of her own 'Super Lover'. A copy of 'Super Lover' was given to the well known and respected DJ Tony Humphries. He broke the song on his master mix dance party show on 98.7 kiss FM and at club Zanzibar in Newark (NJ) where he was a resident DJ. 'Super Lover' became a hit and was signed to a singles deal on Atlantic Records and before long 'Super Lover' was blazing the billboard charts.
