Folk
Chonkinfeckle are a duo from Wigan, and we perform original modern day folk songs! Theatres – Festivals – Concert Halls – Football Stadia – TV – Radio – Living Rooms. We’ve played them all! Chonkinfeckle shot to national fame in 2014 when their song ‘I’m from Wigan me’ became the official anthem of Wigan Athletic’s journey to the F.A. Cup semi-finals, which included the then Chairman, Dave Whelan making a guest appearance on the video! Chonkinfeckle has had the pleasure of sharing the same stage with the likes of Russell Watson, Buzz Hawkins & The Bradshaws, Jon Culshaw, Rowetta Satchell, Mike Sweeney, Ted Robbins and many, many more! Chonkinfeckle’s songs tell of true(ish) stories of everyday life in a Northern town including work, wives, kids, even the Mother-in-law! And they’ll chuck in the occasional bit of local dialect too! And in 2015, the lads launched their very own real ale brew! ‘Chonkinfeckle’ – The Beer, brewed by the wonderful Wigan team at Martland Mill Brewery Our music has been featured on BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky-TV , also national and local radio. Chonkinfeckle are : Tim Cooke – Vocals , Percussion , Bass & Ukulele Les Hilton – Ukulele , Harmonica, Cigar box Guitar
