I just know it has to be in my blood or something. I don't think that it was just there for no reason. Music is who I'm supposed to be; that's why I feel like I chose music over everything. Well, I didn't choose music-MUSIC CHOSE ME... -Chris Black Born and raised in the 305 and also known as Christopher Blackshear, 'Chris Black' had destiny designed specifically for him to fulfill. Since he was a toddler, music was one of his passions- and it is the love of music that would soon grow into a need to create and express himself freely through this outlet. His mother discovered that he had a calling to music when she allowed him to listen to her headphones and saw that while listening he would coast off into 'his own world'. His father's passion for Jazz and Easy Listening music would be a pain for Chris to listen to as a kid- but as he grew older, it would be this music, which now has become the sweetest sounds he had ever heard. His parents shared the music of their time with him and growing up in a church environment fed his love for sound and spirituality. Competing in talent shows at school, performance in plays and other theatrical events fueled his hunger to be a great performer. Chris would also spend time to watch his brothers rappin' and playing various musical instruments. This is what broadened Chris's world. He was raised to see and be ‘bigger’. Growing, experiencing new things and seeing a bigger picture at such an early age would allow him to develop into not being just an average emcee. He has grown into the ultimate challenge and a tough act to follow. Chris is known for being an emcee, a music producer, actor, a writer of poetry and spoken word performer as well as a 'beatbox extraordinaire!' A lover of skateboarding, golf and a faithful participant in the conservation and preservation of true Hip Hop culture- this artist was raised in ciphers building and battling with some of the best in his area. Chris Black was made for the stage- and he has done nothing short of give the best in one-of-a-kind performances, showcasing his ability to conform to just about any type of creative outlet he chooses. Chris is well known for his aggressive, 'winner takes all' attitude, his natural adaptation to eclecticism, energetic performances and the delivery of his lyrical talents in their rawest forms. Chris Black has been crowned by the underground circuit as one of Dade County’s finest emcee’s whose stage presence and verbal skills commands both the respect as well as the ears of any audience he is placed in front of.
