Bassist from New York. Doky was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. After an early training in classical piano, Doky focused on acoustic upright bass play as lead instrument - a distinct Danish tradition. At 18 he moved to New York and soon became a sought-after name in the Jazz club scene of Manhattan. Doky played with Jazz icons such as Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, David Sanborn or Ryuichi Sakamoto, just to name a few. In 1994 he joined his older brother, pianist Niels Lan Doky, to form the Doky Brothers. Chris Doky has released several solo albums and appears on numerous collaborative albums.
