Irish-American guitarist in the 1970s, Chris Murphy worked as a road crew member and later as road manager for Miles Davis' band. The two formed a close bond, and their professional relationship evolved into friendship. In 2002, Chris Murphy released the book "Miles to Go: The Lost Years - An Intimate Memoir of Life on the Road with Miles Davis 1973-1983".
