Born: 27th November 1942, San Pedro, California, USA. Died: 5th November 1972, Cohasset, Massachusetts, USA. American performance artist and member of the GTO's. The teenage Frka, in unison with her township friend Sandra Leano, headed for the lure of L.A.s Sunset Strip and the freak-scene of the late 60s. The two eventually became part of the retinue of 'The Laurel Canyon Dance Company' with Vito Paulekas and Carl Franzoni at the Log Cabin. The troupe's performances at Ciros and early tour with The Byrds reached new levels of erotic dance and excesses. When Frank Zappa moved from New York in 1968, his new regime and work-ethic brought stability to the commune. He rented the Log Cabin and Frka became a babysitter in the Zappa household. She is associated with much of the Zappa periphery, featuring on the cover of 'Hot Rats', courting Vince Furnier of The Nazz and being part of the Szou Paulekas 'freak-boutique' & 'dress-up' catalyst that evolved into Alice Cooper (2) (produced by Zappa). Frka is also the 'Christine' mentioned in "2401" by John Mayall, written during his stay at the Log Cabin. Log Cabin neighbor Joni Mitchell also penned her observations of these Canyon girl's lifestyles into "Ladies Of The Canyon". Frka thus became part of Zappa's 'Girls Together Outrageously' project, aka the GTO's. In later years Frka moved to Cohasset, Massachusetts, renting accomodation from Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers. Her final years were spent in much discomfort, encased in a body-cast to help correct a crooked spine. She died of a drug-overdose in the fall of 1972.
