A.k.a. Chris Mess
Darlington has recorded and released a ton of digital, CD, vinyl, and compilation releases on a variety of indie record labels in the US and Europe. He has toured Europe and the US many times. He has collaborated with well-known artists such as Bowling for Soup and performed concerts with many other popular artists as well, such as Lagwagon, the Click Five, the US Bombs, Rev Horton Heat, Teen Idols, Lillingtons, NY Loose, Hagfish, The Queers, Agent Orange, British all-girl band Fluffy, and two appearances on the Vans Warped tour. Darlington’s releases and concerts have received critical acclaim from much of the press, praise from fans, and radio play across the globe, including spins from Ryan Seacrest, Howard Stern and Rodney Bigenheimer. Darlington has performed at countless concert venues both big and small, including famous venues such as New York’s CBGB as well as on-campus at Texas A&M university, and even two shows at a Texas mental hospital. Although Darlington has composed a wide variety of material, he is best-known and gained most of his popularity for fun, silly tongue-in-cheek “pop-punk” styled songs that embraced or poked fun at popular culture, or both. Many songs deal with serious subject matter or his personal life, while others were written about famous people, or were silly, obnoxious punk rock or sweater rock style songs. Darlington has covered many well-known songs including versions of the Selena hit Como La Flor and the Olivia Newton-John/ELO song Xanadu. Darlington has modeled for fashion photographers, appeared in magazines and newspapers and also modeled at fashion shows. Darlington worked for Harper’s Bazaar Magazine in New York City.
