Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1952, Chucho Merchán began his career in the early 1970's as bassist and leader of Colombian band Marlango. He moved to England in 1974 where he met Pete Townshend, who offered him a position in his band. To date, he has played with such notable artists as The Pretenders, Eurythmics, Pink Floyd, George Harrison, Miguel Ríos, Luz Casal, and Bryan Adams, among many others.
