Album US 1963 on Chess label
Rock and R&B/Soul (Classic Rock, Rhythm’n’Blues)
1st pressing with solid black label, silver lettering "Long Playing 33⅓" bottom edge, also issued in blue with same label design Chuck Berry On Stage This was later repressed in the mid 1960's with different logo on label as Chuck Berry On Stage Album incorrectly credits all songs to Berry. In an attempt to appeal to the surfing craze, 'Sweet Little Sixteen' is retitled 'Surfin' USA'! (Berry won a law suit against Brian Wilson for 'Surfin' USA''s musical rip of 'Sixteen'.) Album is not Chuck Berry "On Stage" at all. Crowd noises are dubbed in over studio recordings. Note cover that states album includes "Memphis" and "Surfin' USA"!
