Mandolin (Bandolim) Cincinato was born in Rio de Janeiro, in "Saúde" neighborhood, on April 21, 1923. He started playing Cavaquinho, becoming one of Pixinguinha's ensembles in 1941 and 1942. He attended the best "Rodas de Choro" in Rio de Janeiro in the 40s, 50s and 60s as "Recreio da Velha Guarda" in the house of composer Alcebíades Vieira Nunes. With the death of Alcebíades, the meetings became to João Durmont's home, known as "Retiro da Velha Guarda". Among the most frequent regulars of the place: Luperce Miranda, Adalberto Vieira De Azevedo, Léo Viana brother of Pixinguinha, Honório Cavaquinho and Juvenal Peixoto. In 1970 he moved to Brasília, where he currently lives.
