A.k.a. Cleo T.
Mixing media, aliases and stage appearances, Clémence Léauté conceives what she calls "a broken mirror reflecting a thousand skies". Her works features theater performances, art projects and a solo musical career under the name of Cleo T. She founded the company "Moonflowers" in 2014, as part of her research for new sustainable economic model for independant artist. Her works focuses on the multiplicity of art practises, of languages and work territories, aiming to wipe out the final market object and highlight the artistic process. Her projects are all developped by her company, with the support of cultural institutions in France and Europe. Her music sits somewhere between ethereal folk and pop avantgarde. Inspired by world traditional musics as well as classical works, she takes her inspiration in french and italian cultural heritage and brings it to permanent hybridation. She collaborates with DJ, electronic producer as well as oud players, tabla players and artists from all over the world. In 2013, she released her first album "Songs of Gold & Shadow" as Cleo T., produced and recorded by John Parish in Bristol. After 4 years of tours and over 100 shows in Europe, Canada and USA, she's hosted at prestigious Villa Medici Académie de France à Rome to write her new project. In 2016, she launches a mixed-media project : "And Then I saw a million skies ahead" conceived as an anthology of light. The eponym record will be out in 2018, while a multimedia performance has been created in 2017 and presented in Paris, London, Rome, Florence, Budapest, Prague, Montréal and Berlin. The forth-coming record will be accompanied by video-art works , in-situ performances and several collaborations.
