Cleber Gazana (Sao Paulo - Brazil) is a sound constructor, visual designer, multimedia artist, professor and researcher. For more than a decade his work has focused on the development of experimental electronic sound construction works, visual art and visual design. He is an artist and designer using various media, such as sound, video, image, installation, as hybrid tools in order to research the aesthetics of failure/error, noise and ambience. His work combines practice with academic training and many of his sound works were first presented at art and electronic language festivals around the world and later edited as digital music. Original sound constructions for art installations and soundtracks for documentaries are also present in his professional occupation. Gazana's sound construction is deeply contemplative with a strong intuitive decisions component. His sound is largely based on noise, glitch, environmental recordings, obsolete media, which are recorded and transformed by means of experimental (re-)editing techniques, and dedicated software and digital processes. His work explores the relationship between sound, noise, failure, ambient, soundscape, sound art and the act of listening. Generally considered to be Ambient in style, their music has incorporated a variety of genres and styles ranging from the generic electronic to the drone, glitch, experimental, noise, minimal and industrial. He has produced recordings under the name Simple.Normal (main project), GridBlock, Danza En Polonia and Ínfero (discontinued) as well as collaborative works with the Italian musician Il Vezzo (Sophie Lillienne).
