What is this album Together Again with Cliffie Stone and The Country Hombres all about? Well, let me tell the story, because my name is Cliffie Stone. One summer while on vacation at Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of southern California, in the sleepy little town of Avalon, I heard and saw a group of wonderful Mexican musicians called The Mariachi's. These talented musicians from south of the border, played guitars, trumpets, violins, basses and had a vocal trio sound that was absolutely beautiful. I thought, at that time, could the Mariachi sounds of the Mexicans be blended with the country music sound of the Americans? I called Billy Liebert, a talented arranger, and we came up with this album of great country hits, played in the style of the Mariachis. the vocal trio part of "The Hombres" is composed of Billy Armstrong, Dale Warren and Rusty Richards. They sing all of our songs but on "Behind The Tear" you will hear Dale singing by himself. On "Think of Me," Rusty by himself, and on "Do What You Do, Do Well," Billy by himself. They have a God given blend and their sound reminds me of border towns like Juarez, Agua Caliente and, of course, Del Rio. It is not strange that the trio should have a ood sound because, at one time or another, they have all been members of The Sons of the pioneers. And so we ring this new music to you: country songs with the tasty trumpet, the soft marimba and the acoustic guitar of the Mariachis. We at Tower hope that you will enjoy "Together Again."
