Bluegrass Guitarist, singer and Band leader. He died at his home with his family at his side October 16, 2011. He was 80 years of age. A Mountain City, TN based group that plays what they call “mountain bluegrass”. Bluegrass legend Clint Howard dies; Once called a national treasure for his old time mountain music singing, song writing, story telling and playing, Clint Howard died at his home with his family at his side October 16, 2011. He was 80 years of age.In the early 1960’, he first came to the attention of folks outside his home region. During that period he traveled and recorded with Clarence "Tom" Ashley , Fred Price, Doc Watson. Clint and his band are a Merlefest favorite, having played there every year since its beginning in the late 80's. At 75, Howard and his band have made two albums in 2004, Passing It On and Live Times 2, both by Mountain Music Recording.
