*1932 US, Brooklyn
Producer
Born: April 4, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. American Music Executive. Founder of Arista and J Records; head of RCA. Chief Creative Officer of Sony Music Entertainment. Trained as a lawyer, he was hired by a former colleague of his at a law firm to work at CBS. He co-wrote numerous songs and produced many of the acts he signed whilst employed there. He eventually became well known for the auspicious roster of artists that he signed. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 (Non-Performer). Five-time Grammy winner. Note: Clive Davis is NOT a producer. Where he is listed as "Album Producer" on a release, it means he had an executive role in the making of the album; not that he produced the songs on the album. He should be credited as "Executive Producer".
