A.k.a. Clive Sidney Selwood
Agent, promoter, record executive and label boss. At various points in the 1960s he held directorships at Elektra, UK Records, CBS and Pye. Selwood met and became friends with John Peel while promoting Elektra Records, because Peel was the only DJ who would play the records he gave him. Selwood became Peel's agent, and helped him get his contract on the new BBC Radio 1 after the banning of the pirate stations. Together they formed the ill-fated Dandelion Records, for which Selwood worked out the financing and distribution. Later he formed the hugely successful Strange Fruit label.
