The Clockwork Wizards were founded in 1986 in Hamburg/Germany by Sven Anders (guitar) and Thomas Piesbergen (vocals) , supported by Dan von Appen (drums) and Susanne Paul (bass, cello). In 1988 they appeared on the compilation "Welcome to Rock´n`Roll Hell". In 1989 they played at the "Love Me Festival" in Hamburg with Link Wray, Sky Saxon and Half Japanese. Soon after that they recorded their first and only LP "First Spells". After a tour through Germany and Denmark with The Fact from L.A. in 1990 they broke up. It is said that they were the wildest of all live bands on the german garage scene. Unfortunately they never released a live recording. In 1993 they reunited for a recording session, but the record label burned down, so the 4 tracks were never released officially. In 1995 they reunited for several concerts. Sven Anders later joined the garage band "Nixon Now". In 1996 Thomas Piesbergen formed the neo-kraut band Passierzettel and played with Damo Suzuki (Can) and Lothar Meid (Amon Düül 2). In 2013 he founded the folk band Ride Lonesome. Both bands are still existing. Susanne Paul studied classical music and joined for several years the quartet String Thing. Today she is leading her own quartet.
