Members of Co-cheòl, Ms Claire Patti, Miss Georgina Walton and twins Merrily and Ginger Hansen, started singing together last year in October. Their inaugural performances took place at the Cygnet Celtic Folk Festival where they were received with standing ovations. They were also invited to perform in the director’s choice concert. Co-cheòl have since made their mark, winning first place in the AUS-ACA Victorian State Championships, held at the BMW Edge on Friday 16th May. The group also achieved the ‘Best Band’ and ‘Best Contemporary Song’ awards. The audience was blown away with their powerful arrangement of ‘In this heart’ by Sinead O’Connor. Co-cheòl’s director, Ms Claire Patti “It’s an honour to have had all these wonderful experiences, I look forward to sharing our music with wider audiences.” Ms Claire Patti also recently won Best Female Vocal artist in the Australian National Celtic Awards.
