The Coal Porters were a British-American bluegrass band headquartered in London and co-led by Kentuckian Sid Griffin and Scotsman Neil Robert Herd. Griffin formed the group in Los Angeles in 1989 and then reorganized the band after moving to London. Joining Griffin are Kerenza Peacock (fine fiddle and vocals), Paul Fitzgerald (banjo and vocals), Andrew Stafford (bass) and Neil Robert Herd (guitar and vocals). The Coal Porters disbanded in July 2018.
