Collegium Vocale Seoul (Conductor: Sun-Ah Kim), founded in 2007, is one of the representative choirs in Korea consisting of members who are professional conductors, singers and voice/choral conducting major students. This ensemble is acclaimed for their “breath-taking and aesthetic performances of the sacred choral music from the Renaissance to Romantic era” and “polished, well-blended sound with skills of clear diction transmission”. (Choir and Organ, Korea) After several performances since 2008, Collegium Vocale Seoul finally started to have their independent regular concerts. Along with their awards at several International Choir Competitions and successful regular concerts, eventually CVS became one of the sacred choral music specialists, and an outstanding ensemble in Korea. April 2014, Frieder Bernius estimated their potentiality after his choral seminar in Seoul, “As far as a choir has self-motivated joy and musical curiosity toward music, they will definitely grow more and more. And I am sure that this choir will continue to develop since they reacted immediately by my gesture and finger tips, not to mention their great passion for singing. ” Between 2014 and 2015, they performed J.S. Bach's St. John Passion, Ha?ndel’s Messiah and they did one of series accompanied performance of J.S. Bach’s cantatas working with legendary baroque oboist, Alfredo Bernardini.
