Band,
Electronic and Pop
Kai and Thomas are friends since the school days late eighties. Both influenced by electronic new romantic and new wave music from the eighties they started to write songs together in 1993. In 1996 they produced a 5 track promo cdr as "banality" called "demonstration". They went to London and gave the disc to two dozen record labels. Without success. In 1997 they changed their name to "commercial" and produced the 7 track mini-album-cd "concepts". This time, they posted the cd to nearly all german labels. At this time they also performed some great live shows featuring their mate Antonia. Antonias voice was also featured on cd. In 1998 they released a more commercial version of "forever" on a single-cd to post it again to some labels. "Forever" and "Coloured lights" reached top 1 at the local radio station, but the labels ignored them. Frustrated by the missing success they stopped writing new tracks in 1999 for nearly 10 years. Thomas started writing a lot of instrumental ambient/trance/pop tracks for his solo project "the artist formerly unknown". Actually, Kai and Thomas are working on some new material to be released later in 2009. Before that time, Thomas worked on 2 other projects: Delete Delete (Industrial pop) and truth or dare (indie synthpop). Additionally he and two friends founded the label "in neutraler Zelle kein Zwang" in 1990, where they released a compilation and a few other cds. All available releases can be ordered at www.discorder.de (a vintage vinyl & cd shop from Thomas). Some tracks from commercial and the artist formerly unknown can be listened to on the myspace sites.
