Commodore 64 Orchestra was started by Nico Demonte of Computer Music with MOS 6510 on drums and Candy Roxx on vocals. The band’s MOS Technology 6581/8580 SID (Sound Interface Device) sound is attributed to the wide array of micro computing technology, and programmers, with the band test piloting early software releases and integrating 8 bit video with the EJ Midi Turntable and ScratchTV. Early tapes written in assembly language were combined with the SID’s 64 kilobytes of RAM and sounds of the VIC-20 and Amiga 500 computer. The 1988 release of Superman and Model versions were actively being traded and swapped on the Commodore Bulletin Board Systems (BBS). The band is heavily influenced by the 80s fashion and trend setting electro clash bands Kraftwerk, Yaz, and Giorgio Moroder. The band released the Model on Mp3Death with their last record of Computer Love in 2004, Computers and Humans (2000), Robots (1995), Superman (1988), and the cult classic release Commodore 64 (1982). The Vintage Computer Festival has chosen Commodore 64 Orchestra to compose on the Parallel Commodore 64 Supercomputer for its disco symphony no. 1 series. The Vintage Computer Festival seeks to "promote the preservation of "obsolete" computers.
