With the year 2008 the German ensemble Concerto Melante officially presents itself in the international music life. The ensemble is named after Georg Philipp Telemann, who at that time formed the memorable, Italian-sounding pseudonym "Melante" as an anagram of the syllables of his last name.
But even before this act of baptism, in the past almost ten years, the musicians came together in the chamber music hall of the Berlin Philharmonic. In the concert series "Members and guests of the Berliner Philharmoniker on historical instruments" the concerto Melante was born.
