A.k.a. Conrad Arthur Beck
Conrad Beck (1901–1989) was a Swiss composer. During his stay in Paris from 1924 to 1933, Beck studied with Jacques Ibert and established artistic relationships with Arthur Honegger, Nadia Boulanger, and Albert Roussel. He also formed the Ecole de Paris group with composers Tibor Harsanyi, Bohuslav Martinů, Marcel Mihalovici, Alexandre Tansman and Alexander Tcherepnin. After returning to Basel in 1934, Conrad became a head of music department of Radio Basel and worked at this position for over 30 years. His works were commissioned and premiered by conductor Paul Sacher with Basler Kammerorchester and Collegium Musicum Zürich.
