A.k.a. Contact (38)
Rooted in the jazz group Contact (38), bassist Alois Kott and drummer Michael Jüllich reinvented the project as Contact Trio and a new style at the more avant-garde end of jazz-rock. An unusual combo, drawing on the new forms of jazz as developed by Wolfgang Dauner in the 1960s and mixing in a bit of spaciness and ethnic flair, their records can be compared to later Dzyan, Giger.Lenz.Marron or Eberhard Weber. In 2014 former members of both Contact bands formed the Contact 4tett.
