A.k.a. Anna Lins dos Guimarães Peixoto Bretas
Cora Coralina, pseudonym of Anna Lins dos Guimarães Peixoto Bretas ( Goiás City, August 20, 1889 - Goiânia, April 10, 1985 ), was a poet and Brazilian short story. Considered one of the most important Brazilian writers, she had her first book published in June of 1965 ( Poems of the Alleys of Goiás and More Stories ), when she was almost 76 years old. A simple woman, a professional sweetheart, having lived far from the great urban centers, oblivious to literary fashions, she produced a poetic work rich in motives of everyday life in the Brazilian interior, particularly the alleys and historical streets of Goiás.
