American rhythm and blues and doo-wop singer. Born : November 14, 1936 in Los Angeles, California. Died : February 26, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (After shot in his automobile) Cornell was an original member of vocal group "The Platters" (Early 1953 - June 1953), he was replaced in this band by Tony Williams. Cornell Gunter worked also with (among others) : "Big Jay" McNeely, "The Flairs", "The Coasters" (replaced Bobby Nunn), Dinah Washington.
