American television producer-writer born in McAllen, Texas. He has won two Emmy Awards: a prime time Emmy for the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award tribute to Mel Brooks (2014) and a New York Emmy for "New York at Night starring Clint Holmes" (1992). He is also the winner of three NAACP Image Awards for televised concert tributes to Stevie Wonder (2007), Smokey Robinson (2009) and Lionel Richie (2011).
