A.k.a. Black Essenz
Hardcore hip-hop group from Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Federal Republic of Germany. Members are DJ Def Rock, MC Mantis, MC Saw, Murder Eye Jack and Scoundrel. Amalgamating out of the group Black Essenz, the first rap group from Göttingen, Counter Attack were instrumental in laying the foundation for hip-hop culture in the University town. Both by organizing and performing at many hip-hop jams, as well as owning and operating the "End2End" skate shop and graffiti store, right next door to Dis-Records on the Goethe-Allee, which was run by DJ Def Rock. Sound wise, the group leaned towards the Britcore sound from the U.K., which was popular in the Northern part of the country at the time (i.e. Hamburg).
