Crazy Dj Bazarro began djaying at the age of 14. In 1986, the release of Eric B for President written by Eric B & Rakim would change his life. "When I first heard that record and read the credits, mixed by Marley Marl & MC. Shan, that record right there taught me how hip-hop records should be made. Marley flipped the shit out of the Funky President drum pattern, that song is a masterpiece, that joint made me want to produce." In 1991 Dj Bazarro jumped on the scene with his first produced independent single called Rhoda, written by Method Man way before the Wu-Tang Clan exploded. The single was mixed at Power Play Studios by the late great Patrick Adams. Bazarro was gaining experience fast listening to and taking advice from the music engineer all-star. While working at the infamous studio, Dj Bazarro had seen the work ethic of groups like EPMD, Salt & Pepa, Sweet Tee, KRS-One and Eric B & Rakim. The song Rhoda was an underground hit. The record label couldnt meet the demands of the public. But Bazarro and his group called The Hitman Squad were able to perform with the Brand Nubians, King Sun, Naughty By Nature, Queen Latifah, Shabba Ranks, Tribe Called Quest and Leaders of The New School. In 1994 the Bushwick Brooklyn native hit the scene again with his new group called Da Dysfunkshunal Familee. The Familee released a hail of underground hits such as New Ruff Flava & Slippin. Bazarros dj and producing skillz caught worldwide attention. With his own record label Armageddon Records, the Familee built a large fan base in Japan, England and Germany. As Bazarro would say, "me and Tony Touch had a hook up with this cat from England selling mixtapes, it blew my mind because selling records and mixtapes yourself teaches you a lot of things. Just from my neighborhood alone, Blackmoon was making crazy noise, the Arsonist were coming up, Tony Touch was already large, O.C was doing his thing, and I can go on forever about talent just in my neighborhood".
