Artist Portrait

Crazy-A

JP
Hip-Hop/Rap
A.k.a. Lucky Break (2)

Often portrayed as the original Japanese b-boy, Crazy-A's career began as a b-boy in the parks of Yoyogi, Tokyo back in the early 1980's. Hailing from Asakusa, Tokyo, Crazy-A established Rocksteady Crew Japan with his close friend Crazy Legs. He became one of the most important people in Japanese hip-hop history by arranging events, recording hip-hop albums of his own and thus keeping hip-hop culture alive in Japan in the early 1980's until early 1990's when the next generation of hip-hop icons in Japan finally emerged. After stepping down from his post as the leader of Rocksteady Crew Japan, Crazy-A arranged one of the biggest annual hip-hop festivals in the world, Tokyo's B-Boy Park every year, since 1999.
