Band,
Singer / Musician of Latin and Pop
Jacareí based dance-music group, founded in 1959. The group was leaded by drummer Nelsinho Marreli (Nelson Attílio). Other members were Oswaldo Damião (bassist and musical director), Gilberto Moreira aka Giba (lead singer) and Carioca (8) (percussionist). In those early years Messias Santos Jr. was a member of the group too, before embarking on a solo career. In the late 60’s, with a significantly changed staff, the band released some funk-soul recordings. The group has continued its activities to date (see Luiz José Navarro da Cruz, Os Bailes e Brincadeiras Dançantes – parte 2, “Semanário de Jacareí e região”, 1187 (July 15, 2016), p. 2, where the image has been taken from).
