In 2000, the Mornington Peninsula band Mother Negative changed their name to Cyan. The band still consisted of Lisa Taffe on vocals and bass, Aaron Keri on guitar and Paul "Smitty" Smith on drums. By this stage they had signed a record deal with Metal-Age recordings in Germany, with whom they released their Debut album "Noider". This was distributed in Europe by Sony. The band recorded a live session for JJJ's three hours of power with Dave McMillan. The band was also included in the yearly "Push" showcase in 1998. They were included on the Push, Play, Record release for that year, as well as participating in the yearly live showcase industry night. Cyan broke up in 2003.
