Cyber People were an Italo disco project formed in 1984. It originally consisted of Giorgio Spagna, who under the alias Cyber People released the single "Polaris" in 1984. It proved to be only a minor hit, as it was only released in Italy, and later in Germany on ZYX Records. Despite its initial sterile reception, it is considered a classic among its genre.[citation needed] Spagna then released "Void Vision" in 1985, and it became Cyber People's biggest hit in Europe and parts of South America. "Void Vision" is considered part of the "spacesynth" genre, which evolved in the mid-eighties and can be seen in works by other bands of that period, including Koto, Hipnosis and Laserdance.
