Dédé Traké are a Quebec band who's sound, over the years, has gone through changes. Initially starting out as a rap group the band now combines hip hop, dance and electro beats with the smooth, swaying sounds of ragga and dub. In 1989 Dédé Belmar, who'd been managing his brothers in glam rock band Danger, decided to start up his own band, adopting the name DÉDÉ Trake for himself and the band. The original members of the group, were Dédé Traké and his brother Polo on vocals, Dragnet on guitars and bass, as well as Frère Lalonde on drums, percussion, and programming. .
